I adapted this recipe from one I already had. It is easy to prepare, and is very filling served with a grilled ham and gouda sandwich.

  1. Saute garlic in hot oil.
  2. Add beans and broth.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in everything else but the spinach.
  5. Boil 15 minutes.
  6. Add spinach.
  7. Simmer 5 more minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese if desired.
