These beans are the best!!! I change things up though. I throw everything in the crockpot. Limas, chicken broth, hamhocks, garlic, onion, and I add slices of green bell pepper. Cook all day (about 8 hours) and enjoy smelling until they are soft. Enjoy!!

I've never just "boiled" lima beans, but I've never cooked them with onions and chicken broth either! Delicious. I used some lima beans that I got fresh in the late summer, then froze myself. They were wonderful. Thanks for sharing! Made for 123 Hits Tag.
My Husband and I loved this recipe !!! I used 3/4 cup of chicken broth and 2 cans drained lima beans instead of frozen. It was easy and delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
Ah, the poor, under-rated Lima Bean. :( Well, in OUR household, they sure are loved!) Saw this recipe and a great photo posted over at Kittencal's site and knew it must be made within the week. Just served it with roasted chicken and sweet potato wedges and five people gave it a "Two thumb's Up!" Simple, easy, tasty, healthy, inexpensive...what's not to love??? What an enjoyable side these oh so tasty lima beans are and that they are so easy to fix is an added bonus. Made using only two tablespoons of butter, other than that made as written and will be making again. Thanks for the post.
