This lasagna was easy and delicious!! My husband also hates ricotta, so this recipe was a huge hit!
This is the best lasagna and easiest recipe I have found! I esp. love that their is no ricotta because I am not a fan of ricotta. Thanks!!!!!
I hate ricotta (and almost every other cheese) so I was thrilled to find this recipe. It is very good and simple to make but more importantly my husband and kids love it too! I've made it several times following the exact recipe and it is wonderful. Tonight I added thin strips of zucchini from our garden- yum!
I made half the recipe in a 9X9 glass pan. I followed the recipe and this turned out delicious. I had 1 serving and popped 2 servings of leftovers wrapped separately in the freezer. Now all I have to do is thaw and reheat in the microwave for 2 more yummy meals. Thanks for posting lilchris! Made and enjoyed for PAC Spring '09.
Smart husband. Ricotta is just gross. Thanks for sharing
As much as I don't like ricotta after making it this way I found it dry. I'm sure my son will like it & that's who I made it for anyway. But I am great full for the recipe ;-)
This lasagna was delicious and super easy! I don't like ricotta so it was perfect. I did add a bit of salt and about 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes to the ground beef mixture, and a tablespoon or so of both fresh parsley and fresh basil to the sauce mixture before layering.
Easiest, best lasagna recipe & without ricotta?..my husband LOVES this.
I have been making it, adding chopped fresh veges, which I sauté before adding.
Have also made it with different meats -- ground chicken, turkey, sausage - all have been delicious.
Great recipe. I wanted to make lasagne but was out of ricotta. I altered this a bit. I used grilled eggplant slices instead of ground beef and used no-boil lasagne noodles. I also substituted a mild white cheddar-like cheese for some of the mozzarella.
Oh, thanks for sharing this recipe. I have my own lasagna recipe (a "petite" lasagna for 2 big pieces instead of the usual 6 or 9 pieces). So I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but I threw in extra spaghetti sauce, mozzarella & Parmesan cheese into the meat mix as directed. I don't even think my husband noticed the lack of ricotta--he doesn't mind ricotta but we don't normally keep it in the house so this is a great alternative way to have lasagna. thanks so much again!
