Easy, Healthy and Nutritious Toddler Yogurt Cereal Bars

"This snack is nutritious & will help fuel your toddler during the day and in between meals. I got this recipe from http://www.wholesometoddlerfood.com. They are delicious and very easy to make. Just a note: I substituted flour with whole wheat flour. I used a food processor to mix the cereal,flour, sugar and cinnamon....turned out great. The number of servings depends on how large you cut your bars. Enjoy!"

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine cereal, 3/4 cup flour, sugar and cinnamon in small bowl.
  • Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form.
  • Press 1/2 the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 8inch square pan.
  • Mix yogurt, egg and 2 tablespoons flour in another small bowl.
  • Spread over cereal mixture in pan and then sprinkle the remaining cereal mixture on top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown; cut into bars when cooled.

  1. I loved these so did DH and my DS1 I will say that they are very crumbly on top. I used exactly half and half, next time I will use 3/4 on the bottom and the rest on top.
     
  2. My 18 month old can not get enough of these! DH and I really like them too! I substituted multi-grain flakes for the corn flakes. I also used wheat flour and threw in a little wheat germ. I think ours ended up taking about 35 minutes to cook. Great recipe, thanks a lot!
     
  3. Easy to make, my 2yr old helped. Nice flavour but a bit soggy, might bake for longer if I make them again.
