Easy Five Dollar Meal Aka Sausage With Beans

"This is a favorite "cheap" meal in our family! It feels so good on a cold day. It tastes great reheated and my co-workers drool when I make it. I love to use the fresh garlic (it looks like an onion) from the farmers market, but you can substitute powdered garlic if in a hurry."

  1. We really enjoyed this. My husband did insist on my adding a little bacon, 4 slices cooked and crumbled. We also added a few drops of liquid smoke. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. I opted to make this in my crockpot, as I needed dinner to be ready when I got home. This was really good! DH & 2 DS's gave it the thumbs up! This would be perfect for a BBQ, too. Thanks for posting!

I am a proud single parent mom of a wonderful 15 year-old teen, an RN, daughter, gardener, and a doxie/weiner lover. I moved to Arkansas about five years ago and finally am getting more used to here. I'm a bit sassy and certainly a "Jersey Girl" at heart. Still haven't figured out why God brought me here to Arkansas, but I am sure in the future he'll open my eyes to why. When my son goes to college, I will probably adopt a bunch of children from different backgrounds. I love diversity and being different. Then I'll move to Jersey....
