Love oven fries and this recipe is no exception. I did not use any oil - just soaked the cut potatoes in the water with the bit of sugar. Drained off the water lightly dried them in between paper towels then sprinkled them with hot paprika no salt. Delish. Make again recipe
I normally do my fries in the oven, but the extra step of soaking and drying them DID make them crunchier and more like a "fry" I will do this from now on, thank you!!!
Really tasty and simple... and easy!
These tasted good but didn't go crispy at all for me. In fact, they were really soggy and turned into a bit of a mushy mess. But it's probably just something I did, since it seems to work for other people. Tasted nice anyway.
These are sooooo good.....I hate deep frying anything because of the nasty oil smell that fills the house. Now we can have french fries all the time....Thank you so much for posting.
Made this last night and my family loved them turned out crispy will definetly make again
These were good potatoes, but not crispy. Perhaps soaking longer, cutting thinner, or baking longer would have produced the crispyness - but I'm not sure which.
I tried this twice and my fries turned out soggier than usual each time. not sure why. I will stick to my usual method. thanks!
This was a simple recipe that resulted in a nicely browned and crisp fry. My cooking time was probably about 40 minutes. Thanks for sharing a good low fat, low cal recipe Andrea!
