This is the simplest cornbread recipe you will ever find. It's a sweet twist on a classic. The cornbread comes out perfect every time. We like to slather it with butter and enjoy it with a beef roast or beef stew. Adding 1/3 cup of sugar is just an estimate...I probably add closer to 1/2 cup.

  • 1 (8 1/2 ounce) box Jiffy corn muffin mix
  • 1 egg
  • 13 cup milk
  • 13 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease an 8" pan.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Pour into pan.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until bread is golden brown. You can also make these as muffins by using a muffin pan.
