- 1 3⁄4 cups all purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1⁄2 cup white sugar
- 3⁄4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts or 1/2 cup pecans
directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
- 2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In medium bowl
- cream butter and sugar together with wooden spoon.
- 3. Add chocolate chips and nuts to butter/sugar mix and stir together.
- 4. Stir in dry ingredients - works best if you mix together with your hands.
- Roll dough into walnut size balls. Flatten cookies slightly with the.
- palm of your hand and place on cookie sheet.
- 5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes (17 minute in my oven) until light golden
- brown around edges. Cookies will be soft in the middle but will firm up
- as they cool.
- 6. Leave on cookie sheet for a couple minutes to let them firm up then
- cool on racks. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
