This pie is so sweet and silky I sometimes dream about it at night. It is a great old-fashioned pie that you just can't beat. And it is SO EASY. Why mess with perfection?
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 cup butter or 1⁄2 cup margarine, room temperature
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
- In a large bowl cream together sugar, butter and flour. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve.
Best buttermilk pie ever!
I made these pies last night and I and my husband LOVED them! I may use a touch less sugar next time, but there definitely will be a next time! :) THANKS!!!!
