This was my Grandmother's recipe for an easy dessert when the family was over.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix first 3 ingredients.
- Pour pie filling into ungreased 9x9 pan.
- Top with Bisquick batter mixture.
- Bake 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with whipped topping.
This was okay but I probably won't make it again. It seemed a bit too chewy/tough for me. However, it is easy and the directions are clear.
Recipe says pour pie filling on top. Not so, it's the thick batter that one drops by the spoon full on top. 375 is too high and 45 min. too long. Best is 350 at 30 min. As soon as you see a golden color, it's ready. Tried the original temp and times and the cobbler ended up too brown instead of the golden color. Best when baking anything is to check often and note the best time before taking out of oven. Some ovens are way too hot for the required temperature setting.
Fast, easy and tasty. I didn't have pie filling, so scattered a bunch of just picked blackberries all through it and joila, dessert. So so simple, you can't go wrong with this. Thanks!
