Loved it! My husband said it was the best meat pie he'd had! We don't normally have home made pies in a Tuesday (which may explain my husbands excitement) but this made it so easy, even after getting the kids to bed. So tasty!

Nice and easy to put together and the stout wasn't over powering just very subtle in flavour. I made it as a whole pie (and think I could have served up to 5 or 6) - for 3 I used just over half. Served with mashed potato and steamed vegetables. Will definately trying again and maybe experimenting with some other vegetables (mushrooms or corn kernels) and maybe even add some crispy bacon. Thank you Tisme, made for Edition 8 - Make My Recipe.

We won't do this often, but it was great for St. Patrick's day. It was easy to put together, although I only filled 3 containers. I've never had mincemeat before. It's really an interesting mix. And it smells so good! Warmed up well, too.

Excellent!! This is so easy and so tasty!! I made exactly as is apart from adding bisto gravy granules to thicken instead of flour. This will definitely become a regular for my 2 pie adoring men. They both raved and wished there were seconds.. My bad, totally thought one pie each would be filling enough, but hey I am a woman. I can not praise the ease of this recipe enough, it really is a great mid week, no fuss, no brainer meal with fabo results. It has been saved to my pie favourites, especially if you love pastry but are trying to watch the waist line. It is one of the few pie recipes I can enjoy without so much guilt, as the pie is only topped with the pastry. Thanks Tisme!!
