This basic mousse can be served in a bittersweet chocolate cup for that elegant dessert. It can also be used as cake filling with the ease of increasing the quantity.
- Prepare mousse by beating all ingredients together in the small bowl of a mixer until thick and holding peaks.
- Cover with plastic and refrigerate until ready to serve.
This is excellent--it's basically real whipped cream with chocolate and sugar added. The texture is perfect for mousse, or a cake filling, and it's not overly-sweet. And it's SO EASY. Loved this.
I doubled this recipe and it came out perfect. I cringe when I think of how much time I took to make my "old" recipe for filling layers of cake and the ease with which this recipe came out. Dh of course had to try it, thus the doubling of the recipe. He gave it a thumbs up for flavor!! Thanks Gingerbee!!
