Easy Barbecue Sauce

"Here's a simple recipe made with ingredients one usually has on hand. Not too sweet or spicy, you can adjust recipe to your personal taste. I ran across this recipe years ago, when I had run out of sauce and didn't want to make a trip to the store."

• Yields: 12 ounces
• Serves: 4-6

ingredients

• 236.59 ml catsup
• 236.59 ml water
• 59.14 ml cider vinegar
• 14.79 ml sugar
• 14.79 ml Worcestershire sauce
• 4.92 ml salt
• 2.46 ml celery seed
• ground red pepper (optional) or bottled hot pepper sauce, to give the sauce a little heat, you may add a little (optional)

directions

1. In a small saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
2. Baste grilled meats with the sauce and serve extra sauce on the side.
