  1. I made this for the first time today., because I had some bananas about to go bad. I was able to make this pie from things I had in my pantry already. I didn't have any whipping cream (or any money to buy any!:) so I used the egg whites left over from the ingredients and added some powdered sugar and made a meringue to go on top. This pie is beautiful and delicious! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  2. This was our desert today. Excellent pie and it goes together quickly. I haven't made a banana cream pie (or tasted one) in many years. We really enjoyed it. Today we had it with whipped topping and a pastry crust. I'd like to try it in a chocolate cookie crust too. The basic cream filling (first 6 ingredients) looks like an easy base for building most any cream pie--vanilla, coconut, chocolate, etc. Thanks.

  3. This IS the best banana cream pie!! It turned out perfect, and it was really easy!

  4. Really good - I was looking for a recipe that didn't use cornstarch or store bought pudding. This fits the bill - and yummy to boot.

  5. Fast, easy and super tasty! Will make again.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
