    Ingredients:

    Directions:

      Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. 2
      Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings. Crumble bacon; set aside.
    3. 3
      Cook onion in drippings until tender; add bacon, beans, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and prepared mustard; mix well. Turn into a 1-1/2 quart oven proof casserole.

      Bake uncovered for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours, checking periodically. Add a little water if mixture becomes too dry.

      Let stand a few minutes before serving.

      Great way to dress up canned beans, I made these tonight with our hamburgers and they were really good, not too sweet. Thank you for posting!

      Great baked beans - loved the ease of preparation and that they are not overly sweet. I halved the recipe and baked in a 1-quart casserole in my toaster oven for 45 minutes.

      I usually cringe when trying new recipes. The finished product is rarely what I had hoped or expected it to be. However, I followed this recipe (minus the mustard) for my first ever attempt at baked beans and everyone loved them! Thank you for a great recipe that turned out great on the first attempt!! Definitely a keeper :)
