- 3 eggs
- 2⁄3 cup applesauce
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups oatmeal
- 1 1⁄2 cups milk
- Mix together all ingredients.
- Place into a 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
Awful, flavorless recipe!
I wasn't overly crazy about this recipe, but my husband did like it. Maybe it's just a preference thing. I think I will look for a recipe with some actual fruit peices added and a "creamier" (if thats possible in baked oatmeal) texture.
I made this today without realizing I only had 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal! So after mixing it and realizing my mistake I added 1/2 cup of flour. I mixed it in thoroughly before pouring it into the pan. I also cut back the brown sugar to 1 cup, it's still a little sweet for me, and threw in a generous handful of chopped walnuts, and increased the applesauce to 1 cup. Delicious, if I do say so myself. I know it's something the granddaughters will enjoy.
