    MariaCBarton's Note:

These turkey burgers are fast, easy, and healthy! They are great on the grill and also freeze well. As a college student who is always looking for healthy, fast meals, it doesn't get any better than this. The night before, I take one burger out of the freezer and let it thaw in the fridge overnight/while I have class the next day. Once I get home, I just throw it on my forman grill and dinner's ready in about 5 minutes! I serve on Arnold Sandwich Thins with sauteed onions.

    Ingredients:

    Servings:

    Units: US | Metric

    Directions:

    1. 1
Start by putting the ground turkey in a large bowl.
    2. 2
Crack egg into the same bowl and scramble with a fork before mixing in the bread crumbs, garlic, onions, ground ginger, and soy sauce.
    3. 3
Mix together with a fork until just combined. Don't over-mix.
    4. 4
Form into 6 patties (I start with a 1/3 dry measuring cup and adjust the sizes from there).
    5. 5
At this point the burgers are ready for the grill OR the freezer.
    6. 6
      TO GRILL:.
    7. 7
Grill about 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through (no pink in the middle). Will take less time if using a George Forman Grill.
    8. 8
Top with sauteed red onions if desired.
    9. 9
      Serve on toasted/grilled sandwich thins.
    10. 10
      TO FREEZE:.
    11. 11
After forming patties, arrange burgers on a cookie sheet and freeze.
    12. 12
Once solid, individually wrap the burgers in sandwich baggies.
    13. 13
Place baggies in a larger zip lock freezer bag or an air tight container.
    14. 14
      Thaw before cooking.

Very good. My husband especially liked them as he likes ground turkey better than ground beef. I used the full amount of ginger, and might back off on that some next time. And I think it could use a little something else... but I haven't figured out what that is yet! I especially appreciated the freezing tips. We did freeze half of this recipe and they came out great when we thawed and used them. Thank you. We will make these again.
