Easy Apple Cake

"My mom gave me this recipe- I think she got it from magazine. It is really good and very easy and it never hangs around very long. It's good warm or cold, for dessert or even breakfast. Nuts can be added to make it even better. Splenda can easily be substituted for the sugar."

  1. After being unable to get all purpose flour during this pandemic, we were forced to get self-rising. I wanted to make an apple cake and Chef Meela had this absolutely wonderful apple cake recipe with self-rising flour! I toasted pecans, used vanilla bean paste and have made two so far. We love it. No mixer needed and an absolutely wonderful cake. Thank you Chef Meela, your Mother for giving it to you and our entire family will share it for generations to come. Good food goes a long path. You gave us a new recipe that will last for lifetimes to come. Hoping you and yours remain virus free, and the best to you always. Will think of you every time we bake this cake!! Jo Ann

  2. This turned out really well. I used brown sugar, doubled the cinnamon and added a tablespoon of grated fresh ginger. With whipped cream on top it was a big hit. Thanks!

  3. t was very easiy to prepare and there was little cleaning up. The soft, warm apple tasted so delicious next to the spicy cinnamon cake. However, the cake is really dense with calories, so after I impulsively ate a quarter of the cake in one sitting, I felt kind of sick afterwards. Be careful with this cake--it's dangerously tasty!
