- 2 cups granny smith apples (pared, cored and sliced, or use your favorite cooking apple)
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup natural apple cider
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Bring apples, brown sugar, and apple cider to a boil, then simmer gently for one hour, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, add cinnamon, then mix in a blender or food processor until smooth.
