I found this recipe one day when I had to have coleslaw. It is the best coleslaw. I think this calls for more sugar than necessary, so taste it as you make it.
- 1 lb shredded cabbage
- 1 shredded carrot
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- to taste salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
- Mix together mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, celery seed and horseradish. Add shredded cabbage and carrots and toss until covered. let stand five minutes. Enjoy!
I omitted the celery seeds. The horseradish gives a great taste to the coleslaw. So yummy. Thanks Vegwife :) Made for Cookbook tag game
The horseradish that is added in this recipe, makes this very special coleslaw; and it is pretty easy to make. This is the recipe that I now use.
I am so glad I adopted you! This coleslaw was exactly what the title states, easy and delicious. The supermarket was out of prepared horseradish so I skipped that step, but next time I'll make sure to add it, because there is definitely going to be next time. Made for PAC 2009.
