This was simple and fabulous! Ended up using 500g of chicken thigh fillets, added some tomato paste and some dried thyme and rosemary - apart from that, stuck to the recipe and managed to get 7 servings out of it. Served it with mashed swede and cauliflower but it would work perfectly with simple mashed potato or just with some nice bread - delicious and definitely a keeper for my recipe book - thanks for posting!

Made this today and it was so good and simple. As a matter of fact, so simple that I wasn't sure how it would be. I made it in the crock pot, cooked on low for 4 hours and it was great, served with warm, crusty french bread and a glass of wine. What could be better on this cold fall morning. I didn't change anything (other than the crock pot). Next time I might add some pototoes, but you can't ask for a better recipe, delicious, easy, and fast. I'll be making this often. We're giving this five stars, because for a weeknight, healthy, non-fancy family meal, it would be hard to beat. I wasn't sure about the "1 tbsp chicken stock", since I didn't think a single tablespoonful would add much flavour, so I used a vegetable bouillon liquid instead. The cabbage shrank down and released its juices into the pan. Very simple to cook, and very pleasant to eat (in a plain, soothing sort of way). We served it with mashed potatoes. This was excellent. I wanted something quick and easy for a weeknight meal, and this was just the ticket. The flavours in it, its making my mouth water just thinking about it. The only thing that I change was that I used garlic granules only because that was the only type of garlic that my local store did. This recipe was fantastic thanks so much for posting, will be cooking again.
