My mother made these for us, I made them for my daughter, now she makes them for her kids. Everyone has always loved these. But we make a variety of toppings. Glaze, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, sprinkles, powdered sugar. And everyone decides which topping they want. We never have leftovers (teenage boys) which is good because they don't taste nearly as good after they cooled off.
I have made this same recipe since the 70's. However, I no longer make these because my children are grown, and my grandchildren can't have a lot of sugar. A quick and easy donut recipe, as well as tasty.
For a quick doughnut, this is great! I would have loved more flavor but for how easy it was, and no kneading or rolling or cutting, this was perfect for me! I will be making these again!
What a treat! I hardly ever make fried food or crave doughnuts but, something came over me on Sunday morning and new I had to give your recipe a try. They turned out great and were on the table in a few minutes. DH couldn't believe his good fortune. Fresh doughnuts and football!! I know I'll be asked to make these again. Thanks for posting this Hubby pleasing recipe!
I could never thank you enough - these are amazing!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Been making these for years, my dad made these for us as kids and now I make them for mine! These are so easy and sooo good. The only way to eat them is hot and fresh, they are worth making and will become a new favorite I'm sure! My kids love these and so do I, thanks for sharing!
These were delicious and so very easy. They are better eaten while warm!
Wow! This recipe couldn't be easier...or better. I will never go back to store bought doughnuts! Thanks for posting!!
Wow, Rick, these sure are easy --- and tasty, too. I made these for a very fast breakfast this morning. These are ingredients I always have on hand. Very simple, my teenager can make them. I sprinkled some with just sugar and others with a cinnamon/sugar mixture. So soft; better than store-bought. Thanks. This is going in my premanent file.
