Most amazing pie I've ever made... everyone I've baked it for absolutely devoured it. definitely my favorite recipe,
This recipe is awesome, it has ingredients that you have in your cupboard and it tastes amazing!! I have searched for years to find the right apple pie recipe and here it is. Enjoy!
DELICIOUS!!! I loved this pie recipe. I made a couple of modifications. I used Granny Smith apples (green apples) and used 1/2 the amount of white sugar for the filliing. I also used the already made Pillsbury crust. The topping, I kept the same, but I am thinking it would also be very tasty with the addition of nuts.
Delicious, yet simple to create!
I must have 20 recipes for Apple pie as I have baked for 50 years..... This is by far my favorite and everyone else's! Making one for a friend right now....... The Best!!!!
Ohhhhh, this has become one of my favorite things...along with SuperBras and Spanx and weaves. 10 Stars!!
This turned out beautifully. The only change I made(I hate when reviewers make changes, but...) was that I cooked the filling on the stove to thicken it up before I added it to the pie for baking.
Holy YUM! Perfect and amazing pie. I used all granny smith apples and doubled the recipe to make 2 pies - one to cook "now" and one to freeze for later. Cooked the first one as written, from start to finish. for the "freezer" pie, I followed all directions up to baking - instead of baking, I wrapped the unbaked pie in 3-4 layers of plastic wrap, placed in a gallon-sized freezer bag, and froze for 2 weeks. When I was ready too cook the frozen unbaked pie: 1) I baked the pie covered with tinfoil on 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. 2) After that, I removed the tinfoil and reduced the temp to 375 for another 30 minutes, 3) then reduced the temp to 350 for another 30 minutes or so. Turned out wonderfully. I will ABSOLUTELY make this pie again. Served with ice cream = Heaven! (And, I'm not even a huge "fruit dessert person" - typically a chocolate gal).
I have been baking pies for years..and this by FAR is the best pie I ever made! This is truly a 5 star recipe!
We've made this a couple of times now, including for work holiday gatherings.

We also have done as mini-pies in a standard muffin tin. We use two rolled crusts (one box) and a three-inch cutter--one from each crust needs some frankenmorphing with scraps. The apple slices need to be chunked or chopped to fit better. I greased the cups before fitting the crust inside. Baked for 30min at 375* with success.

I doubled the recipe, using approx 12 apples and ended up with 36 muffin-pies and a bit leftover.
