Dutch Apple Cake

"Nice Dessert. Very little fat so a nice snacking cake also. Recipe came from a magazine some time ago. I usually use macIntosh apples. Hope you like it!"

ingredients

• 2⁄3 cup brown sugar (packed)
• 1⁄4 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 1⁄4 cup yogurt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 2⁄3 cups cake flour
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons ginger
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
• 2⁄3 cup applesauce

• topping mix

• 2 apples
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons water
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon

directions

1. Cream sugar and butter.
2. Beat in egg, yogurt, and vanilla.
3. Combine dry ingredients.
4. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce.
5. Pour into lightly greased 9" pan.
6. Arrange sliced apples on top.
7. Brush on topping.
8. Bake 350 for 30-35 minute.
