nice flat dumplings
- Mix 2 cups of flour with chicken broth and salt to form soft dough.
- Spread 1/2 c flour on bread board.
- put dough on top.
- let cool.
- roll out and cut 1" x 2" strips.
- let dry 15 minutes.
- drop into boiling broth/stew and simmer for 15- 20 minutes.
i tried this recipe today and it was so bad. i'm sorry i've never given such a low review. i had to add a lot more flour than called for just to form the soft dough ball. once the dumplings were cooked they had a good flavor, but the texture was very odd.
Best recipe yet! It is the closest thing to my mother's "SLIDER" recipe. I substituted Baking Soda (2 tsp.) instead of the salt. Enhances the flavor like my mom's. THNAK YOU!!!
These were so simple and yummy! They reminded me of the one's at Cracker Barrel. I put them in w/ stewed chicken and a beef stew. Thanks for a great recipe!
