I confess, I was out of the Biscuit Mix that I normally use to make Chicken & Dumplings. So I whipped up a batch of these dumplings. I am so impressed! These came out so light and fluffy with the perfect texture. I added 3/4 teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder and "my standard" 1 well beaten egg to the batter. I will make these again...soon!

Sorry...forgot the stars...My new favorite dumpling recipe...added them to stew, and was asked by my family why I didn't make a few more...best compliment I can give this review...thanks for sharing this recipe.

Sign in or create an accountI don't know if I did something wrong, but most of my dumplings came out chewy. Does the consistency of the broth make a difference (mine was a little thick)? Also, it doesn't say when to add the milk, so I added it after I cut in the shortening. I'll try again some time.

I made these dumplings last night with a creamy chicken, celery and tarragon broth. I added about 1/4 tsp. of ground nutmeg to the broth. I did not have any parsley so I used 1/4 tsp. of the nutmeg in the dumpling batter too. Sooo good. I made this recipe just as written. Thank you Becky for a really good dumpling recipe!

I made these dumplings for my chicken and dumplings and they were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! They rose up light and fluffy and were delicious. They soaked up a lot of the stock, but made the meal even tastier! So simple to make as well!

These dumplings derserve a 5 star my kitchen. I didnt have any crisco so I used margarine. Excellent texture ! I cooked them in the crockpot. I will post the photo here so others can see how wonderfully they cook up. Now understand they were still cooking. No doughy texture at all. Great recipe !
