Drunken Cranberry Sauce

A delicious holiday (or not) whole berry sauce that is so simple (if you don't sneak a sip of the liquid while you are acquiring the ingredients) that you'll be amazed.

Whoa!! A little too much booze for me! Still good, but an acquired taste, methinks. I usually make my cranberry sauce with juice (different kinds) and lemon peel or orange peel and I am not a drinker so take this review for what it is and decide for yourself.

Directions

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients (in saucepan large enough to hold ingredients and more).
  2. Cook over low heat until most of berries have "popped".
  3. Add zest and cinnamon.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Cool and store in refrigerator or freeze until wanted.
