Dreamsicle Delight

"Had this while dining out so made it ourselves tonight. Put some water ON your glass mug and put it in the freezer so it is frosty and ready for you. The half and half is the same size as you can get at the gas station or restaurants that come in those tiny cups. And if you want to use diet soda or vanilla mixed into vodka, go for it. After looking at Chef#169430 review, notice that you should not use fat free creamer as it won't mix in nicely."

  1. This drink is luscious! I did use diet soda, but otherwise followed the recipe. The taste was great and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day! I'll be making this again and again. Thanks for sharing, WiGal!

  2. This was good. It did taste pretty close to a dreamsicle. Adding more milk/cream makes it nice and creamy. The only thing I didnt like was the fizziness from the soda. It gave the drink a little weird taste for me. I prefer orange juice in place of it. It was nice to try a different dreamsicle drink, thanks for the recipe!

  3. WOW, who knew? This is a real treat. I used the vanilla and vodka like Andy and I think I booboo'ed by using fat free coffee creamer in place of the dairy half and half. While it still tasted marvelous the creamed didn't want to mix well with the alcohol and/or soda and looked a tad ragged. Go ahead and splurge on the real thing (especially if you'll be sharing it !) because this is delicious.

  4. This is a delight and does taste just like a *dream* I followed this completely except I didn't have vanilla Schnapps, but added two drops of vanilla and 1 tablespoon of vodka. Close, but really no matter. This was so exciting, cause' I had to go through McDonald's to get a coffee this morning, so I could get one of those little cups of cream. It was perfect and so pretty when mixed with the orange soda. Ahh, life is *good* Made for Everyday is a Holiday* July 2009
