This was a good sauce. It doesn't taste strongly of Dr Pepper-it seemed more citrus-y to me. It does make a lot. I put some in a small sauce pot and added a flour/water roux to thicken it b/c it was pretty thin. I didn't leave it in the fridge very long so that might be way it was thin. It thickened up nicely and coated my chicken very well. I forgot to add the red pepper.

This was really good. Not sweet, but not spicy. And yes, you're left wondering, hmmm, what is that? It's very simple to make. I used Diet Dr. Pepper, as that is what I had. I also used a fresh onion, and used cayenne pepper instead of pepper flakes. My only complaint is that the sauce is very thin, and doesn't really stick to the meat. I did however, use it as soon as I made it, and did not refrigerate. I wasn't sure if that was what the directions meant. Also, I mixed it by hand, since my blender went to that appliance warehouse in the sky. I used the sauce on chicken breasts, and served with fries and mandarin oranges. I will try it on pork chops next. It does make a big batch, so plan on having it a few times. Thanks for a great recipe!

I am a teacher, and have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 9 years. I have a niece who is 7, and a nephew who is 1. Also, I have 2 sweet kitties. Sinatra is a bit on the plump side, and Audrey is a petite dainty thing. They both are almost mirror images of each other.
