Throw away the canned version this one is just as good, actually better I think. I prefer the real thing vs. Diet Dr. Pepper, but either one would work, I think. My Sister-In-Law contributed this to our family cookbook.

Pretty good Recipe.. I did add some chili powder, red peppers and green peppers to mine. Will use this recipe way before the canned stuff.. Thank you for sharing recipe!!!

Directions

  1. Brown meat, breaking into small pieces, add garlic, onion and salt.
  2. Cook 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, stir well.
  4. Simmer 20 minutes or until thick.
  5. Spoon onto toasted buns.
