Dr. Oz's Tangerine Weight-Orade

"This is Dr. Oz's recipe for a powerful metabolism-boosting drink. According to Dr. Oz, green tea is shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup; tangerine contains a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat, and mint is a calorie-free flavor enhancer. Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum metabolism-boosting results. I believe this can't hurt and can only promote good health. 5/2/13 Again, the recipe is meant to be a metabolism booster and because it's not loaded with sugar or sugar substitutes it will not be a sweetened drink. It's aim is health benefits and hoped it will judged as such."

  1. I made this last night, I chopped the mint (which I will not do again) Tonight I will just put a couple sprigs, so i can remove them the next day. I also took the peel off of the sliced tangerine. I realy liked it!! It was very refreshing! totally making it again tonight!! Looking foward to the results!!

  2. I'm a bit ambivalent about this - I had hoped to really, really like it. It's ok. I know I would like it better if I sweetened it, but that's a bit counterproductive. The tangerine seemed to add a bit of bitterness to the drink - not bad, and I did drink all of it, but not what I was hoping for. I am wondering if it might not work better if I could zest the tangerine, although that might not be so easy to do. I need to get more tangerines to try this again - perhaps I should strain the tangerines out after they sat overnight in the tea? I'll be interested to hear others' experience with this.
