  • Place the walnuts and almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 4-8 minutes or until toasted and golden brown, stirring once. Let cool. Line an 8 inch square pan with foil; grease the foil with butter and set aside.
  • In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cream, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir in toasted nuts. Cook, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reads 238 degrees (soft ball stage). Remove from heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until creamt and thickened. Quickly spread into prepared pan; cool. Cover; refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Using foil, lift candy out of pan; discard foil. Cut candy into squares. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

  1. A little more gooey than I normally go for, but you called it right ~ "Delicious and gooey!" Great for the Sweettooth who likes nuts, & a nice change from the usual! My neighborhood kids were certainly drawn to it & insisted on a 5-star rating, so here you go! [Made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in this Spring's PAC]

I'm a college student who is not going to gain the "freshmen 15." I enjoy cooking and I can't stand to eat out a lot. It just makes me feel so unhealthy. My favorite thing to make is desserts. I enjoy hearing how well a meal is after the hard work that is put into it. I live on a ranch so our family has always had sit down meals, which i love. I thank my mom for really showing me how to cook!<img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
