WOW, who knew that a little can of almond paste could make such an impact. These brownies are simply amazing. I made these in a nifty little square cupcake pan that I bought recently and baked them for about 33 minutes.
Wow, are these ever delicious! I baked them 46 minutes and they were very fudgey. DH declares them the best brownies ever! Odense's website definitely has some amazing recipes. I used Ghirardelli double chocolate brownie mix, which has chocolate chips in the box, so I skipped adding them. The box calls for 1/2 cup water and 2/3 cup oil (I subbed half of that as applesauce). It is probably more accurate to have the ingredient list say "water (which is currently missing from the ingredients) and oil per box instructions". These are definitely good with ice cream, but the delicate almond flavor gets a little overpowered. We prefer them plain, so you can taste the pure unadulterated goodness that they are!
