I came up with this recipe to up use a Honey Baked ham bone. I don't even like peas, but this soup has the best flavor and no pieces of peas in it!

  1. Rinse split peas and pick over.
  2. In large soup kettle put in peas, onions, bullion cubes and water.
  3. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer, covered for 2 hours.
  4. Add carrots and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Add ham and simmer for 10 minutes.
