This is one of my 'Trick Me' snack recipes...reminds me of peppers and onions!
- 1 green pepper, large
- 1 red pepper, large
- 1 lb crushed tomatoes, canned
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons basil, freshly chopped
- salt and pepper

- Cut the peppers in half lengthwise, remove the seeds, and slice into thick lengthwise pieces. In a blender or food processor, combine the tomatoes, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, salt and pepper and pulse until well mixed, but still a bit chunky. Serve with the peppers. (6-8 servings).
