We tried this wonderful chilled soup at the Grand Floridian resort in Disney World. My daughter absolutely loved it! I came across this recipe on a site that lists recipes from Disney.
- Thaw the frozen berries in their juices.
- Blend all of the ingredients (except the fresh berries) on low until smooth.
- Chill, shake well before serving.
- Add fresh strawberry halves as a garnish.
As a former Disney employee ('74-'76) and working at the then Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, I have the original recipe for the famous Lake Buena Vista Strawberry Soup - anything else is an imitation. Here's an original Disney Christmas present:
10 ozs frozen strawberries with juice
10 ozs sour cream
3 ozs lime juice
2 tsps salt
6 ozs powdered sugar
3 ozs Grenadine
4 ozs sweet cream
Mix all together on low speed and blend until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed (sour cream dissolved). Chill and serve with fresh strawberries. Chef's note: if not tart enough, add lime juice to taste. Yields 35 ozs.
Enjoy this true Disney treat!
very good. I halved the recipe and added a little sugar to taste. It's hard to stop eating this.
tastes just like grand floridians! Easy and tasty. We added chopped bannana to leftovers and had for breakfast with croissants.
