I got this from a friend but have not tried it yet. I plan to today.
Make and share this Dishwasher Detergent recipe from Food.com.
- 236.59 ml washing soda
- 236.59 ml borax
- 118.29 ml salt
- 118.29 ml citric acid
- Carefully mix all together and put in tightly covered mason jar.
- Use 1 Tablespoon per load and use vinegar for the rinse.
My glasses came out hazy and I can't get them clear again even when I went back to my Finish. My dishwasher is a new stainless steel so it was definitely the recipe and I went right by the recipe. Trust me, don't do it!
Hi mandikaake, I tried this the other day... I found it to be pretty good! Admittedly I did give it a tough first test, with some pretty messy items in there. I could honestly say they came out as clean as I could wish. I also tried adding a few drops of lemon essential oil to the compartment where the detergent goes, and the machine smelled lemony fresh after. I may play around with this and add a tiny drop of Fairy liquid, but whether this will improve it or not I don't know. Thanks for the recipe!
