A great non-cook recipe for children to make and serve friends or as a class cooking project. It's a fun and easy introduction to cooking for all.

I originally got this recipe from my aunt, who got it from a friend, who got it from a friend, and so on. It's now a favourite for bridal and baby showers, pot-lucks at mine and my husband's work, and parties. In fact, I got a special request yesterday afternoon from my husband's job that I send my "famous dirt cake" along for a farewell party. Needless to say, I couldn't find my recipe and turned here! It's absolutely fabulous and a real conversation piece!

I made this for a friend at work and it was a hit. I used a new decorative flower pot, covered up the hole with an oreo. I mixed the cookie crumbs and pudding mix together, then ended with a layer of 'dirt' at the top. Its lots easier to serve that way. I added a few gummy worms peeking out of the 'dirt'. A few of my co-workers wondered where the cake was, they thought it was a gift of a blooming plant! We had it again with chocolate pudding, its even better than the vanilla.
