chia, another great bread machine recipe, loved the dill in this, was great with roast beef and turkey as a sandwich! yummy!!
This was a yummy, moist loaf. Low fat cottage cheese works fine, and I used 1/2 ww and 1/2 ap flour, taking hippeastrum's advice to add a bit of extra water. I reduced the sugar by 1 T as well, as we don't like a lot of sweetness in bread. This was terrific topped with lots of butter and served with chicken vegetable soup. I really couldn't taste the dill much until the second day, and it was quite yummy then. Made for Healthy Choices 2008.
This is an excellent recipe for delicious and moist bread that is extra easy to make. I have a recipe for a cottage cheese dill quick bread, but I have to confess that I love this one so much more, and it's just as easy to prepare. I'm thinking tuna sandwiches for the leftovers!
Very good. I also like that is very high in protein. I used half wheat and half white flour and so the mix was a little dry and I had to add more water (maybe 1/4 cup). It still came out fine. Thanks a lot!
I had been looking to try a version of this bread for a long time, and glad to have found this one. I found the crust to have a particularly nice texture; a perfect blend of crispy and chewy. I did have to scale the recipe to my 1 1/2 lb. machine with no problems (I used 3/4 of all ingredients except the yeast, of which I used 1 package, or 2 1/4 tsp). I also threw in about 1 tsp. of onion flakes. I recommend the recipe, and it's in my keeper file.
