Great recipe, I also add some green onions and bacon. Now that makes it perfect. Oh and I always us fat free or at the very least low fat sour cream and mayo.
My local Safeway sells this for $6.99/lb. My daughter and I got a sample of it and really liked it, so we decided to make it ourselves. This is IT. I may cut up some cucumbers in it next time I make it, because that just sounds delicious to me! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
Hands down THE best potato salad I've ever had! My fiance raved about it too and he's not usually a potato salad fan. I made it exactly as stated and it is perfect! It's also inexpensive and ridiculously easy to make. This one's a keeper!
I can tell you that I will be making this potato salad a lot! We loved it! I knew from looking at the recipe, that I would want a little more flavor added in. So I added in 2 cloves of minced garlic, 3-4 chopped green onions, onion and garlic powders, a splash of lemon juice, and a little more dill because we love dill! The sauce is sooo creamy! I didn't have enough time to marinate long in the fridge, only 30 min. But with those extra additions, the potato salad was already flavorful enough and we ate it at room temp instead of cold. I have leftovers in the fridge now, so we will be having it tomorrow cold out of the fridge. Thank you for this recipe. It is delicious!
One of my faves. Served this at July 4 picnic with my ESL students from India. They loved it, altho it was their first ever taste of this American classic. The bacon bits do make it even better, but I passed, since Hindus do not eat pork or beef. Cokes and celery would also add crunch, which I feel it needs.
I haven't made red potato salad in years. I made this recipe and tweaked it a little by using scallions, celery and just 1/4 of a green pepper. This was made for Fathers Day and every bit of it in a large bowl was gone. I thought I would be able to take some home. Nothing, was left.
Great alternative to the potato salad I end up making about 10 times a summer! I used 1/4 cup mayo to the sour cream and added green onion and finely diced dill pickle along with the fresh dill. Big hit at my Granddaughter's second birthday party!!!
I made half a recipe for just us. We absolutely loved it. I forgot the red onion so used green onions that I had. I liked the additional color they added and will stick with those. Excellent recipe. Just like the Red Potato Salad from the deli counter.
