Delicious! This is the perfect meal after an 18 hour drive from Texarkana to Atlanta with a truckload of Coors.
Great sandwich for when you're in a hurry.
The REAL diablo sandwich:
http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/Diablo-Sandwich-quotDiablo-amp-Docquot-From-Smokey-amp-the-Bandit-Identified-m778897.aspx
I humbly submit two variants I've found for the Diablo Sandwich.

First, if corn kernels in a sandwich don't float your boat, try leaving the corn out and adding a layer of BBQ flavored Fritos cor chips just before serving. I've tried various flavors of Doritos but I prefer the Fritos because of their texture.

Another variant that is a bit more "hard core" is to substitute Corn Nuts for the kernel corn - add them when there is about five minutes or so of cooking time left. Timed right, this adds a nice, tamale-like element to the meat and a little crunch. It's terrific.
Just okay for us. Nothing wrong with it, just not what we were looking for.
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm in a "Smokey & The Bandit" tribute band and we posted a link on our Facebook site. We are Burt And The Bandits. Keep the peddle to the metal and the pan on the griddle!
