I found this in the Mar 08 Sam's Club Source magazine. We had received a Christmas ham and I still had plenty of it in the freezer, so I thought I would give this spread a try. Glad I did. My DH asked that I thaw another package of ham and make it again (this time adding some sweet pickle relish). The second batch was the way we liked it best. I am posting the recipe just as it appeared originally, but I'm including the pickle relish as the last ingredient in the list as our little tweek. Hope you all enjoy it too!
- 2 cups ham, chopped
- 4 scallions, chopped fine (white only)
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 2⁄3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
- sweet pickle relish (optional)
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Keep in refrigerator.
Wow! this was good, I followed recipe except for scallions ,i replaced with dried onion flakes. Everyone loved it ,as Baby Kato said, it was even better day after ,today is third day and still delicious, will be making often , ty for posting Laura
This was a very tasty spread LauraBlueEyes. We enjoyed it very much. I did use the sweet relish option. This recipe was very quick and easy to make, with lovely flavor and textures. I served the spread with sesame bagel crackers the first day as an appetizer and on the second day for lunch, I served the spread on toasted bagels with lettuce for tasty sandwiches. The flavor was even nicer on the second day. Thanks so much for posting.
