"A nice sidedish. I use boiled fresh beets, but you could use canned beets, drained."

  1. Really good. I didn't have brown sugar so i used white sugar, honey and a touch of molasses. I also didn't use cloves ( I dont like the taste of them). This dish was delicious and easy to make-I will make again! Thanks Mae.

  2. Really easy and tasty. I didn't have any worcestershire sauce so I replaced it with a half a teaspon of Bragg's Liquid Aminos and it still turned out good. Yum.

  3. I roasted fresh garden beets and followed the recipe. Served this with salmon and garden salad...nice light meal on a hot mid-western day!

  4. I often purchased these vacuum packed beets imported from France to satisfy my love of this vegetable. These were a wonderful way to brighten the beets up and make them special. Watching my saturated fats, so I subbed the butter for olive oil. Though they glazed as expected it did not have the buttery flavor that sugarpea referred to. Not a problem for me, but thought others should know. Thanks MaeEast for a great recipe that I'll be keeping in my arsenal.

  5. Buttery-rich and full of flavor, I really appreciated that these beets were wonderful without lots of sugar. I used baked, sliced beets-I don't think it makes a bit of difference.
