I use a tablespoon of 35% food grade peroxide (10 times stronger than pharmacy stuff and you have to be careful with it before it is diluted), but this works great. You will be surprised at what comes off of your vegetables. You should only use cold water for leafy greens so they will stay crisp. Other fruits and vegetables can handle a little warmer water. I also put this in a spray bottle and use it to spray and then wipe down all of the packages and cans when I come home from shopping before putting them in the cabinet and pantry. You never know when someone with the flu sneezed or coughed all over them. For produce, don't skip the extra rinse, or it will taste like peroxide.
