Reportedly the house cocktail for Delmonico’s Restaurant.
- 1 ounce gin
- 1⁄2 ounce brandy (or Cognac)
- 1⁄2 ounce dry vermouth
- 1⁄2 ounce sweet vermouth
- Angostura bitters (2 dashes)
- orange twists or lemon twist
- Add the gin, brandy, vermouths, and bitters to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously; strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with orange or lemon twist.
