Thanks for the great recipe. I made these to go in your chicken noodle soup recipe. They turned out really well and were super easy. I used 1 1/2 c AP flour and 1 c whole wheat.
Absolutely my favorite recipe for homemade egg noodles! Very hardy, and so easy to make. Do make sure to flour your board well, as they will be sticky!!!! I spray my pizza cutter with non-stick butter spray and never have a problem with cutting. I made these to go in "goulashy" Beef Stew for the Slow Cooker really delicious! Thank you for another wonderful recipe Kittencal!
My family thought these were great! I especially love how hearty they are. However - if you've never worked with making your own pasta before - make sure your table or countertop is well floured when rolling out. You could even go so far as to pick up the dough and flip it over as you are rolling - to ensure it doesn't stick. These cooked up nice and plump and I will be making them often! Thanks for a great recipe! :)
This recipe needs to have more information added in the directions. We need to know, if we are using our KA's like recipe writer, at what speed do we blend and at what speed do we knead. Also how sticky should dough be after kneading and if it's really sticky, as mine is, should I add a little more flour or is the flour added during countertop time a sufficient amount to keep it from being so sticky. If you are new to making noodles this would help a lot with this recipe. Tx.
I really like the recipe, I put in 1/4 c chicken broth, and 1/4 c milk instead of 1/2 c milk. I don't let them dry I put them right in they only need to cook for about 2 minutes depending on thickness.
Made this as directed using my Kitchen Aid mixer and pasta attachment. After kneading dough and letting it rest 10 minutes, divided it into four pieces and rolled it out to an "8" thickness. Then I cut the strips into three inch lengths and using my thick noodle cutter ran them through the pasta attachment again. I wanted hardy but not too thick noodles and that is what I got! Floured them lightly and let them dry for about two hours. Divided them into three portions and froze. Now I am ready for yummy soup weather. Thanks for sharing!
I MADE HOMEMADE EGG NOODLES!!!! What a great, simple and delicious recipe. Never thought I'd do it. The directions are so easy to follow and the ingrediants so simple that looking at it I was sure I must be doing something wrong. But boy was I wrong - I was so pleased to serve this in my Chicken Noodle Soup DH really thought I'd done something special and it was all so easy. Made for all you can cook Buffet
Great recipe! I used whole wheat flour and a little bit more butter [perhaps 1/4 cup in total]... Will use this one again!
this was the first time that ive made pasta and it turned out great. wasn't sure how long to cook them for. i tried them at 8 minutes and they were quite good. thanks for posting
LOVE! I up the salt to 1 teaspoon and usually use egg beaters because that is what I have on-hand. I've tried subbing some whole wheat flour for the white, but who am I kidding? Homemade noodles aren't supposed to be healthy. Thanks for the great recipe.
