I love this salad. I kept the curry and celery and it was just perfect for us. I did substitute low-fat mayonnaise and used Splenda instead of the sugar. Since we had turkey bacon, that's what went in and it was wonderful. This is making its way into my best of 2013 cookbook! Made for Photo Tag game.
I was with Boomette in leaving out the curry, although another time I might include it but cut back on the amount! Also liked Mikekey's use of cranberries, even though this time around I made the salad with the raisins! Definitely a winner here, & I'm including it in my Best of 2012 cookbook! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S to a fault! Many thanks for sharing it! [Made & reviewed in Everyday Is a Holiday recipe tag]
This was a hit! Great flavors and textures. I subbed dried cranberries for the raisins, as we don't care for raisins. The little bit of tartness was nice from the cranberries.
I'd like to give this more than 5 stars. I made this for lunch today to go with ham sandwiches and I ended up skipping the sandwich and going for more of this great salad. For personal taste I omitted the sugar, raisins, and used Baco's in place of the high sat fat bacon and used "1/2 the fat" mayo. I made a half amount but I'll be making more of this delight tomorrow or the next day at the latest. The sunflower seeds are a real highlight here. This is going into my All Time Fav's book :D, YUMMM!
There is so much flavor in this broccoli salad. So good. I decided to omit the celery. And also the curry cause I don't like that. I loved the sunflower seeds in it, and usually I don't really like sunflower seeds. I used light mayonnaise. I used less sugar cause I didn't want it too sweet. It was just perfect. I love the addition of balsamic vinegar. Thanks Breezermom :) Made for Market tag game
I love broccoli salad and enjoyed this one! I used veggie bacon bits and halved the recipe. I used white balsamic vinegar. Thanks! Made for Newest Zaar tag.
