Del Rancho Garlic Dressing

"My Father and Mother owned the 49th Street Del Rancho in Oklahoma City, and this is their all-time, "world famous" dressing. Use it on salads, dips for veggies, deep-fried mushrooms, whatever!"

Questions & Replies

  1. This Garlic Dressing is EXACTLY what I remember (I always substituted this for the "salad dressing" that came on the Steak Sandwich Supreme...I think the menu now says Miracle Whip, but I'm pretty sure that, in my day, Griffin's Salad Dressing was used. Frankly, they're about the same.) So...now that I have this Garlic dressing, I really have a hankering for a Del Rancho Steak Sandwich (I grew up eating at the location on 59th and S. Santa Fe or the one on SW 44th and Penn (approx?)) Do you happen to know the breading recipe? I've seen a couple online that call for flour followed by a dunk in a seasoned buttermilk with baking powder and soda, but I dont think it's an accurate recipe...for one thing, I was pretty sure they seasoned the meat prior to breading, and I have found no recipes that call for that step. Anyway, THANK YOU sooooo much for fulfilling a great food memory! Brent Bisgard

  4. 5 Stars from my wife who was born and raised in OKC. She would get Chicken Fried Steaks there and put on this dressing (along with the salad!). She says it tastes just like Del Rancho's Garlic Dressing. Thanks for posting!
