Inspired from Apple Kitchen cook book, Demetria Taylor, 1966. Has applesauce in it; really good.

  1. Mix ground beef, egg, bread, onion, pepper, and applesauce together.
  2. Make 15 balls; place balls in a casserole dish.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees Fahreneheit for 15 minutes; drain fat.
  4. Mix ketchup, water.
  5. Add ketchup/water mixture over the bell pepper; this step wasn't in original recipe but I like it this way.
  6. Bake 30 minutes more.
  7. Add pepper to cooked macaroni as soon as drained. I can't have butter but you can add some if you wish.

Easy and delicious lunch. I really like that they cook in the oven then you add the easy sauce and cook another 30 minutes. Made for PRMR.
