  • 1 lb ground deer meat
  • 12 lb lean sausage meat
  • 3 slices soft bread, torn into pieces
  • 12 cup onion, chopped
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 14 teaspoon sage
  • 14 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 14 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg
  • 12 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 14 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 14 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until done.

Very good meatloaf- could not tell that it was deer. Easy to put together- would make again. Thanks!

I am not a fan of deer meat, but this is what was thawed out, so I tried the recipe, omitting the sausage, and it turned out great, even my kids loved it!

We were given what I considered really nasty deer burger. This recipe came the closest of all I have tried to mask the off flavor of the suet they used in it. I think with "normal" deer burger this recipe would really be even better. I made a topping with catsup, mustard and brow sugar and baked it on during the last 15 min of baking time.
